About Ms. Nguyen
I am thrilled to teach at Ida Jew Academies! A proud Golden Bear, I graduated from UC Berkeley with a double major in Psychology and Business Administration. During my undergraduate years, I volunteered to work with at-risk students and put on numerous events to encourage students to attend college. After a short stint in the corporate world, I left to pursue my passion in teaching. I earned my Masters in Education from CSU Fresno with an emphasis on multicultural education and social justice. Prior to coming to IDA, I taught for five years in grades K-3.
From my experience, I understand how crucial the primary years are for developing the skills necessary to become life-long learners. In my classroom, I have high expectations for all of my students while establishing close relationships with each individual and their families. Along with excelling in academics, I believe that students should attain positive character traits and be compassionate towards others. I give students opportunities to be reflective in their learning so they can feel empowered to take on challenges.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, watching football, bicycling, and spending time with my husband Joe and dog Petey. I'm looking forward to an outstanding, dynamic year at IDA and getting to know the students, families, and community!
