Hello My Name Is...
Ms. Herrera

I am the Technology Teacher. I am in charge of teaching Digital Citizenship to students in 6th-8th. Grade. I also teach many online tools such as Google Drive, Edmodo, Prezi, and Khan Academy to students in grades 3rd-8th grade.
I am the coordinator for the MOUSE Squad named Tech Punk-z, a group of 24 students from 4th-8th. grade, who maintain and troubleshoot our school equipment. I manage the computer lab, iPad cart, and I facilitate the Technology Committee for our school. In addition, I offer professional development to teachers.
We recently added a new after-school club: AppGirlz Club. This is an all-girls club where girls will learn computer programming with the help of a Google Mentor, Emily Lam. We have a team in the upper grades who will compete to create an app that solves a community problem for a chance to win $10,000. They will attend a Hackathon event at Stanford University in January to get an intense training on computer programming with the help of professional programmers.
